![]() I think they more recently added a 3rd CAN network on OBD2 using pins 3 & 11? Not sure what that's used for, but all these changes would require different capabilities in the module hardware and might explain some of the part number changes. The idea behind this was to isolate hackers who might be able to get into the infotainment from being able to control the parts that physically control the vehicle. They used pins 1 and 9 to drive a dedicated infotainment CAN network (head unit, satelite radio, gps, gsm networking, etc) in addition to the standard PCM/emissions/diagnostics CAN network on pins 6 and 14. As long as the they are using the same processor and have a similar set of IO ports, I doubt it's a big deal.Īs an aside, around 2006 I know Ford switched to using two CAN bus's, both exposed over the OBD2 port. Their firmware still might be compatible with each other, though. ![]() If I get anywhere, i'll can share the results.Ībout the different PCM modules - it's not too surprising that there are different part numbers. As easy as these trucks are to steal, a little goes a long way!Īny chance you could share some of those hex files? Knowing the processor type, I can try to load them up in IDA Pro and get started on the fun part - reversing the software PM me if so. For example, imaging if the PCM firmware could be reflashed to add an 'unlock code' that's required before allowing enabling ignition - say a 4-button combo entered via the cruise control. ![]() That's my biggest motivation, having had my truck stolen before. that's how those products exist I'm not interested in making a product or going into business tuning trucks - I'm just curious and by the looks of tings, I'm not the only one interested in learning more about this In the Mitsubishi community that I used to do this stuff with, the opensource community was the first to add options like on-the-fly map switching (using just the crusie-control buttons!), launch control, no-lift-to-shift auto rev matching (for manuals), valet mode, etc.īut what I'd REALLY like to see done on the 6.0 is some simple anti-theft mechanism! Spending $500 on a stupid alarm that goes off every time a squirrel jumps on roof, but can be disabled by any half-bit thief is less than ideal. Exactly! All the aftermarket options you have to pay for have done this. ![]() ![]() If youre getting close to the advertised rated speeds, dont worry about it. ![]() the Black SN750, while the write on the Black is rated for 400MB/s faster than the Blue. Beginning with sequential read and write, the WD Blue SSD racked up the highest speeds. The WD Blue SSD performed really well on CrystalDiskMark. It measures sequential read and write performance and random read and write speeds of random 4KB and 4KB (queue depth 32) data. The real-world profile Sequential results are a little lower than both the default and peak performance results but that is due to the test being done at a QD of 1 with 1 thread, which is where most of the everyday tasks are undertaken. That Blue SN570 is actually rated for 200MB/s faster sequential reads vs. CrystalDiskMark is an easy-to-run and quick utility to use to gauge a drive’s performance. The test results from CrystalDiskMark 7 confirm the official figures for both Sequential (up to 2,400MB/s reads, 1,950MB/s writes) and 4K random (up to 410,000 IOPS reads, 405,000 IOPS writes) performance. We are also starting to test with the latest version 7 of CrystalDiskMark which has a couple of built-in profiles, Peak Performance and Real World. The WD Green SN350 comes in capacities of 240 GB, 480 GB, and 960 GB. These drives are positioned a notch below the WD Blue SN550 (mid-range), while the WD Black SN850 remains the companys current flagship client SSD product. As a comparison, I also tested a Samsung 1TB 7200rpm HD103SJ and a 2TB WD Green 5400rpm mechanical hard drive. The new SN550 drive is not only faster than the previous generation Blue SN500, but it's also faster than both versions of the WD Black SN750 drive at a fairly deep queue depth of 32 in CrystalDiskMark.Īt a QD of 1, the SN550 has a slightly faster read performance than the SN500 and both WD Black SN750's but the SN750 has slightly better write performance. Western Digital announced the new WD Green SN350 series of entry-level M.2 NVMe SSDs. I ran the WD BLUE 4TB and 1TB SSHD review samples through their paces with ATTO, AS SSD, and Crystal Disk Mark to get some metrics for comparison against the specifications. ![]() CrystalDiskMark is a useful benchmark to measure theoretical performance levels of hard drives and SSD’s. For a variety of computing applications like gaming, HD media playback, or creative software, look to WD Blue 3D NAND SATA SSDs. ![]() ![]() ![]() Like the PC version, VB-Cable for Mac supports up to four stereo channels, labeled VB-Cable A+B and C+D.
